William Maguire is a contemporary artist blacksmith who brings his experience from extensive training and travel to give life and fluidity to his reluctant medium, steel. He uses traditional joinery techniques in his innovative designs giving his work its quality, value, aesthetic appeal, strength and unmatched uniqueness.
Will is a highly skilled craftsman after having completing a dual trade in blacksmithing and engineering fabrication in Australia and then working under a number of renowned artist blacksmiths in England, Russia and America. He uses his rare skills as a blacksmith to create a wide a variety of commissioned work and particularly enjoys expressing his ideas through cleverly wrought steel.
He has won a number of awards for his sculpture and has exhibited in both England and Australia. His work is in private collections in Australia, England, America and Japan. He is also involved with the NSW artist blacksmith association as a demonstrator and committee member.
