This is a beginners workshop for those curious about blacksmithing and interested in creative uses of the craft. You will be guided through the processes of forging steel hot with hammer and anvil to transform it into a tinkling bell.
This will be a small group session where we will be helping each other out to each successfully complete the project. The workshop includes all materials and fuels and your work is of course yours to keep. Safety glasses, ear protection and gloves are provided (you may also bring your own if you prefer).
You will need to wear durable closed in shoes, durable long pants and long sleeve shirt that can get a bit grubby. A reasonable level of health and fitness is needed as you will be doing physical activity in a hot environment, its a good idea to bring a water bottle. There will be tea and coffee and facilities supplied.
This is an adult workshop however responsible 14-18 year old's may participate but must be accompanied by an adult who is also booked in.
The workshop is located at: 664 Elderslie Rd, via Branxton NSW 2335, Australia and will run from approximately 9 - 12.30.
Please be aware blacksmithing and metal work activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to burns, cuts, eye injury, and physical strain. Safety measure will be in place however everyone needs to take reasonable care for their own safety, the safety of others and follow all safety instructions provided by the facilitator. Participation is voluntarily and undertaken at your own risk.
